Who Are the Kahok Dancers?

Welcome to the Kahok Dancers web site. I would like
to tell you about our organization, The KAHOK DANCERS
is a group of young adults and teen volunteers who, for
entertainment purpose, perform a series of dances that
were created by the group’s founder and director
Frank Acardi.

Originating as an Explorer troop within the Boy Scouts
Frank started a group of dancers who performed for
scouting events. Over a course of several years the group
broke away from the Scouts and became one in itself. The
KAHOK DANCERS have been entertaining audiences now
for over 50 years.

Each dance that the group performs during a show is
completely the creation of Frank. Through years of
dedication and study of Native American culture,
costume and dance, Frank developed a series of dances,
for entertainment purposes only that hinge on, but in no way
reflect authentic, Native American story dancing.

Based in Collinsville, IL, the Kahok Dancers are a not-for profit
group that performs for all types of private parties
and public events. During the summer of 1999 the group
was honored with being able to perform at the Municipal
theatre at Forest Park, also known as the Muny, in St. Louis, MO.
